PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key bar compression apparatus that reduces vibrations and relative noises of key bars in a power generation electric machine. SOLUTION: A solution for reducing backlash of the key bars of the power generation electric machine is disclosed. One embodiment of the apparatus includes multiple key bars (130) that movably connect a stator iron core (120) with a stator trumpet (160) where the stator iron core (120) is at least partly housed, a cable (140) that surrounds the multiple key bars (130), and at least one anchor device (170) that connects a part (146) of the cable with the stator trumpet (160) so that a compression load is generated at least to one of the multiple key bars (130) by tightening the cable (140) on the peripheries of the multiple key bars (130).
