<p>The method for cooling heat-treated elements (2), in which the cooling is carried out after heat treatment, comprises producing and maintaining a circulating gas flow (7) in a rapid cooling region (4) through which the elements are moved after the heat treatment, and adding predetermined amounts of a cryogenically liquefied gas (9) in the circulating gas flow at predetermined time. The circulating gas flow flows around the part region area of the elements of turbulent. The circulating gas flow is produced and maintained by a recirculating means (6).
