PURPOSE: A color filter substrate and manufacturing method thereof are provided to shorten manufacturing time by unit time by reducing the number of manufacturing steps, thereby increasing productivity. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a color filter substrate comprises the following steps. A black matrix(115) with openings(113a,113b,113c) is formed on a substrate(110). A color filter layer(120) includes a red color filter pattern(120a), a green color filter pattern(120b), and a blue color filter pattern(120c) which are successively repeated on the openings. An organic material is coated on the color filter layer. An organic material layer has a first thickness. A light exposing mask includes a light transmitting area and a light blocking area on the organic material layer. An exposed organic material layer is exposed to a developing solution during first time to form an overcoat layer(127) and a plurality of patterned spacers(130). |
