COLORED RESIN COMPOSITION, COLOR FILTER, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE, AND ORGANIC EL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored resin composition for a color filter capable of enhancing retardation effectively, while keeping compatibility with contrast ratio control or hue control, without lowering transmittance of a pixel.

SOLUTION: This colored resin composition includes (A) a pigment and (B) a binder resin, and (B) the binder resin includes a resin having a biphenyl group having a specific structure, and the content rate of the resin having the biphenyl group is not less than 1 wt.% and not more than 40 wt.% to the whole (B) binder resin. Application of the composition is also provided.
