<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a library apparatus capable of shortening time until its operation state without increasing manufacturing costs even when the number of cartridges increase. <P>SOLUTION: The library apparatus includes: a magazine 2 for storing a plurality of cartridges 6; a rack 7 on which the magazine is loaded; a conveyance mechanism 10 for attaching and detaching the cartridges from the magazine; a reader 11 held by the conveyance mechanism to read identifiers of the cartridges; and a controller for controlling the movement of the conveyance mechanism, and completing, before the magazine is inserted into a rack insertion port or discharged, movement of the reader to a position where the identifiers from the first cartridge started to be inserted at the time of insertion of the magazine into the rack to the cartridge at completion of the insertion are continuously readable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
