PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens system having superior optical performance, or the like. SOLUTION: The zoom lens system includes a positive first group G1, a negative second group G2 and a positive rear group GR, in order from an object side. The rear group GR is arranged closest to the object side and includes at least a positive third group G3. The third group G3 includes at least four positive lenses L31 to L33 and L35 and at least one negative lens L34. When varying power from a wide-angle end state to a telephoto end state, an interval between the first group G1 and the second group G2 is increased, an interval between the second group G2 and the rear group GR is decreased, and intervals between the lenses L31 to L35 constituting the third group G3 are constant. At least part of a lens group located to be closer to an image side than the first group G1 is eccentric so as to include a component in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis as an eccentric lens group and satisfies a predetermined conditional expression.
