<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new personal authentication method and personal authentication system using a vein pattern. <P>SOLUTION: The personal authentication system uses a vein pattern during bending and stretching motion of a finger as authentication information. Since joints of a human finger are hinge joints of one degree of freedom, and besides, a tendon is present between the first and second joints to interlock movements of both joints, bending and stretching motion of the finger is very highly reproducible. So, in the personal authentication system, time-series variation in a vein pattern along with the bending and stretching motion is defined as a dynamic feature amount to generate authentication information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
