PURPOSE: A position measuring device for charging materials of blast furnace is provided to accurately measure the location of charging material by calculating the insertion length of a wire member based on the rotation count of a drum using an encoder. CONSTITUTION: A position measuring device for charging materials of blast furnace comprises a drum part, a driving part, a wiring part, a weight member(401), a measuring part and an output part. The drum part comprises a rotary shaft, which is formed on the upper part of a furnace to rotate, and a drum(220), installed at the rotary shaft. The driving part rotates the rotary shaft. The wiring part comprises a wire which is wound in drum and inserted in a furnace according to the rotation of drum. A main wire is connected to the outer circumference of the drum. A sub wire is connected to the end part of the main wire and has bigger cross section than the main wire. The sub wire is made of a heat-proof material to prevent the deterioration due to high temperature.
