Provided are a gas filling device and a gas filling method using the gas filling device, said gas filling device being provided with a gas supply source (10); a fuel gas filling line (L) which is connected to the gas supply source (10) so that gas tanks (101, 102) are filled with fuel gas, a temperature information acquisition unit for acquiring temperature information within the gas tank (102); a pressure information acquisition unit for acquiring pressure information within the gas tanks (101, 102); a relation data acquisition unit (47) for acquiring correspondence relationship data which shows the correspondence relationship between the temperatures and the pressures within the gas tanks (101, 102) when the filling rates of the gas tanks (101, 102), which have been acquired in advance, reach target filling rates; a temperature difference calculation unit (52) which calculates the temperature difference between the temperature of the gas tank (101) having the highest internal temperature and the temperature of the gas tank (102) having the lowest internal temperature, among the gas tanks (101, 102), on the basis of the temperature information; and a control unit (55) which implements control so as to stop the filling of the fuel gas when the temperature of the gas tank (102) having the lowest internal temperature reaches a residual temperature obtained by subtracting the temperature difference from a predetermined upper limit temperature, and a pressure obtained from the pressure information reaches a correspondence pressure corresponding to the residual temperature in the correspondence relationship data. |
