<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the downsizing and cost reduction of a device and a reduction in a failure rate by reducing the number of used pieces of insulating elements without reducing the number of pieces of information when transmitting information on the operating state of a semiconductor switch element to an external apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This semiconductor power converter (100), which is configured by connecting two or more semiconductor switch elements (1a and 1b) for switching operation, is based on different reference potentials. It includes an information transmitting circuit (4b) which detects the abnormality detection factor of each semiconductor switch element and the specified physical value as state detection information, and transmits it to the external apparatus. The information transmitting circuit (4b) generates a binary logical signal which identifies the abnormality detection factor and the specified physical value according to the detected state detection information, and transmits the generated binary logical signal to the external apparatus via a single insulating element (7b). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
