PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a network device connected to a network from a client computer including no dedicated application program. SOLUTION: The client computer 10 transmits an HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) request for requesting the retrieval of the network device to a specific network device 20 through a Web browser. The specific network device 20 having received the HTTP request converts the HTTP request into an SLP (Service Location Protocol) request by a Web service, and multicasts the SLP request to IP networks 60, 65. Network devices 30, 40 having received the SLP request transmit attribute information to the specific network device 20.
