PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent entry of dust and improve the rigidity of frames, in an imaging apparatus configured to move a lens group in the direction of an optical axis by use of an ultrasonic linear actuator. SOLUTION: The frames 51 and 52 house at least a first group unit 2, which is a movable lens group, the ultrasonic linear actuator 4, and a second group unit 3, which is an immovable lens group, and form the substantially outer shape of the imaging apparatus 1. These frames 51 and 52 are formed from two separate shapes obtained by dividing a box into front and back portions such that the insides of them have no protrusions in directions intersecting the direction of unmolding. The leading end of the rod 42 of the ultrasonic linear actuator 4 is held by one of the front edge of the front frame 52 and the rear edge of the rear frame 51, and the vicinity of a piezoelectric element 421 is held by the other. Accordingly, the sidewalls of the frames 51 and 52 are formed airtightly, that is, without leaving any holes.
