A computer-implemented method includes identifying a plurality of spoken prefixes for a speech recognition system, monitoring a voice input of a computing device for one of the spoken prefixes to be stated by a user of the computing device, storing one or more terms that are spoken after a spoken prefix that is identified by the monitoring, correlating the spoken prefix with an action on the computing device, identifying, in the stored one or more terms, a subject to which the action may be directed, and performing an operation with the computing device that applies the action to the subject.
