<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a NOx storage reduction catalyst from being poisoned by a sulfur content by enhancing the SOx absorption capacity of a SOx absorber. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device 1 provided in the exhaust passage 12 of an engine E includes the SOx absorber 2 upstream thereof and the NOx storage reduction catalyst 3 downstream thereof. The SOx absorber 2 is provided with a first SOx absorption section 21 and a second SOx absorption section 22, absorbs SOx by manganese oxide as a first SOx absorbent on a low-temperature side and absorbs SOx by calcium carbonate as a second SOx absorbent on a high-temperature side. Therefore, SOx in combustion gas having a wide temperature range is effectively absorbed and purification performance is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
