<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve input control for a coordinate input device matched with a user and to improve the operability of the coordinate input device by dynamically setting a specific area for invalidating coordinate data input by the coordinate input device. <P>SOLUTION: A personal computer includes a touch pad 16 for inputting coordinate data. A utility 113b executes setting processing for setting an invalidating range for invalidating coordinate data input by the touch pad 16. A driver 113c determines whether the coordinate data input by the touch pad 16 is included within the invalidating range set by the setting processing.
