PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, suitably protecting a receiving coil from a high-frequency magnetic field applied by a transmitting coil. SOLUTION: In this MRI apparatus 100, a computer system 70 detects the magnitude of electric load generated in the receiving coil 14 based on the magnitude of induced electromotive pressure generated in a search coil 15 due to application of a high-frequency magnetic field by the transmitting coil 13.
