PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an appropriate luminance level by improving the accuracy of ABC control in an X-ray diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: The X-ray diagnostic apparatus 100 includes: an X-ray tube 81; a high-voltage generating part 10 for applying tube voltage to the X-ray tube 81 for generating X rays from the X-ray tube 81 and feeding tube currents; an X-ray detecting part 9 for detecting X rays generated from the X-ray tube 81 and transmitting a subject; an image generating part 11 for generating an X-ray image based on the output of the X-ray detecting part 9; a range determining part 13 for determining a partial range according to prescribed rules from a pixel value range between the maximum pixel value and the minimum pixel value within a region of interest in the generated X-ray image; and an X-ray control part 17 for determining X-ray conditions based on the pixel values in the partial range and controlling the high-voltage generating part 10 based on the determined X-ray conditions.
