摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an atomic oscillator that can drive a direct-current bias current in a point at which a transmitted light intensity is minimum. SOLUTION: The atomic oscillator comprises a semiconductor laser 1 for creating a resonant light pair for causing alkali metal atoms to generate an electromagnetically induced transmission phenomenon, a cell 2 in which alkali metal atoms are sealed; a PD 3 detecting the resonant light pair transmitted through the cell 2, an A/D converter 4 for converting an output signal of the PD 3 into a digital signal, a memory 6 for storing the digital signal converted by the A/D converter 4, a memory control section 5 for writing the digital signal in the memory 6 and reading out the digital signal stored in the memory 6, a comparator section 7 for comparing digital data already stored in the memory 6 with the digital signal converted by the A/D converter 4, a current source control section 8 for controlling a direct-current bias current to be given to the semiconductor laser 1 based on the comparison result, and a current source 9 for supplying the direct-current bias current to the semiconductor laser 1.
