PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casing structure which can excellently protect a display device even when an external force is loaded to a portable electronic device of a two-axis hinge type, and to provide a portable electronic device. SOLUTION: In a casing structure 10 of a portable electronic device, a display portion side case 100 and an operation portion side case are connected mutually through an opening-closing hinge mechanism so as to be freely opened/closed. The display portion side case 100 includes a display case 110 accommodating a display device 112 and a hinge case connected to the display case 110 through a rotation hinge mechanism 130 so as to be rotated. The display case 110 includes a front display case 140 accommodating the display device 112, a rear display case 150, and an interior rear frame 170 so arranged as to face one another.
