PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for gating medical procedures without using an internal marker. SOLUTION: The method of performing a medical procedure includes: a step of providing a plurality of templates, each of which has an image and treatment data; a step of registering an obtained input image with one of the templates; and a step of performing the medical procedure based on the treatment data of the one of the templates that is registered with the input image. The apparatus for performing a medical procedure includes: a means of providing a plurality of templates, each of which has an image and treatment data; a means of registering an obtained input image with one of the templates; and a means of performing the medical procedure based on the treatment data of the one of the templates that is registered with the input image.
