<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the light take-out efficiency of light taken out of an element by reducing totally reflected light generated on the interface between a substrate as the element outermost surface and an air layer as a loss. <P>SOLUTION: This optical member arranged on the light take-out surface side of a planar light emitting element 10 is a reflection phase hologram 2 where the incident direction of illumination light L0 and the emission direction of primary diffracted light L1 are substantially opposite in the incidence plane formed by the illumination light L0 and the normal of the light take-out surface. By utilizing the totally reflected light occurring on the interface between a base 6 and the air layer 7, the light take-out efficiency of the planar light emitting element 10 can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
