PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which a user can recognize where a photography object exists quickly even when zooming is performed, and to provide a program for the same. SOLUTION: When zoom-in operation is performed by a user (Y at S3), a decision is made concerning whether a zoom lens 3 is positioned at the Wide end or not (S4), and if the zoom lens 3 is positioned at the Wide end, image data picked up by means of a CCD 5 are stored as sub-image data in a buffer memory and a sub-image 22 is displayed together with a through image (S5). Subsequently, the zoom lens 3 is moved in accordance with user's operation of a zoom key (S6). A zoom frame is displayed (S7) with a size corresponding to the zoom operation while superposing on the sub-image 22, and a zoom frame is displayed (S8) based on a position calculated at a position calculation unit 11.
