PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera enabling a user to easily mount an interchangeable lens even in a dark place. SOLUTION: The camera includes: a camera side mount part 8 to which the interchangeable lens 4 is detachably mounted; a detection part 38 which detects whether or not the interchangeable lens 4 exists within a predetermined distance from the camera side mount part 8; illumination parts 30 and 32 which are capable of illuminating at least either the vicinity of the camera side mount part 8 or the interchangeable lens 4 which exists within the predetermined distance from the camera side mount part 8; and a controller 36 which controls illumination by the illumination parts 30 and 32 based on the detected result by the detection part 38.
