The method involves receiving an image sequence (1) that distinguishly represents healthy and affected cardiac muscle tissues. Two individual images (5, 5`) of the sequence are processed with the help of a data processing unit. A region of the tissues is detected in each individual image using a pattern recognization algorithm (6). A descriptive factor is measured, where the factor describes a geometric characteristic of the region. A dynamic change (7) of the descriptive factor is measured. Medical relevant information, which is obtained from the dynamic change of the factor, is displayed. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a magnetic resonance imaging tomography device for executing a method of evaluating a cinematographic image sequence of a heart during a cardiac cycle (2) a computer software product for executing a method of evaluating a cinematographic image sequence of a heart during a cardiac cycle using a magnetic resonance imaging tomography device.
