The gear has landing-gear legs (6, 8) pivotably arranged at an airplane (2) structure between a retracted position and an extended position. An actuating device for retracting and extending the legs engage at landing gear bars i.e. chassis props (14, 16), of the landing gear legs. The actuating device includes a retractable-pull rope i.e. hauling cables (18, 20), for retracting the landing gear legs. The pull rope is locked in the extending position of the legs and retracted in the retracting position of the legs. The landing gear bars are constructionally designed as a hollow box.
