PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system in which the confidentiality of image data obtained by picking up an image by a portable terminal apparatus is secured, and furthermore, even if a problem such as a failure or the like occurs at an image output apparatus that is designated to output an image, the image can be outputted from the other image output apparatus. SOLUTION: A portable terminal apparatus includes an encoding section 103b for encoding picked-up image data by the use of a reference data table stored in a storage section 108, and the portable terminal apparatus outputs, to an image output apparatus, the encoded picked-up image data to which a common code corresponding to the reference data table and an output machine ID set by an entry by a user are attached. Meanwhile, when the output machine ID received matches its own output machine ID, the image output apparatus decodes the encoded picked-up image data by the use of an inverse transformation table corresponding to the common code, and outputs the decoded picked-up image data.
