PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte lithium battery of low cost which has superior large current discharge characteristics and long term storage characteristics. SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte battery is provided with an electrode group 10 formed by winding a positive electrode 1 and a negative electrode 2 through a separator 3 and enclosed in a battery case 9 together with a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The positive electrode 1 contains iron disulfide. The negative electrode 2 includes a lithium film 21 and a metal foil 22 containing a metal capable of making an alloy with lithium.
