<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back electrode solar cell to which a prevention function of failure caused by reverse bias voltage can be easily added, and to provide a solar cell string and a solar cell module using the back electrode solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: In a first embodiment of the back electrode solar cell, the back electrode solar cell includes, on the backside of a semiconductor substrate of first conductivity type: a first diffusion region of first conductivity type, which contains first conductivity type impurity with a concentration higher than that of the semiconductor substrate; a second diffusion region of second conductivity type, which contains second conductivity type impurity having a conductivity type different from the first conductivity type; and a third diffusion region of first conductivity type, which contains impurity with a concentration higher than that of the semiconductor substrate and lower than that of the first diffusion region.
