PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent outflow of color ink to a pixel on which a background image is not printed, and to achieve good image quality. SOLUTION: The liquid injector includes a head having a first nozzle row for delivering first liquid forming a background and a second nozzle row for delivering second liquid forming an image on the background, a moving mechanism for moving the head, and a controller for controlling so that a dot row in which dots are arranged in the moving direction is formed on a medium in an interval smaller than a prescribed pitch. The controller is set so that an overlap use nozzle is included in the downstream side of the use nozzle of the first nozzle row and the upstream side of the use nozzle of the second nozzle row, and when the dot row for the image is formed by the overlap use nozzle of the second nozzle row, the dot row for the background is formed in advance in the upper and lower rows sandwiching the dot row for the image, and then, just after the dots for the background are formed by the overlap use nozzle of the first nozzle row in the dot row for the image, the dots for the image are formed on the dots for the background by the overlap use nozzle of the second nozzle row.
