<p>Increasing performance potential of a biogas plant, comprises: introducing hydrogen into a methane fermenter (8) or a post-fermentation system, in which hydrogen is generated by electrolysis of water; feeding generated hydrogen into a hydrogen-metal hydride storage (2) in an air-tight container (3) under a pressure; storing hydrogen atoms in a crystalline metal lattice of the storage; and releasing the atomic hydrogen from an output side of the storage via an anti-biofilm-membrane on a biomass, preferably methane bacteria, which is made to respire in carbon dioxide to form methane. An independent claim is also included for a device for performing the method, comprising the methane fermenter or the post-fermentation system, a hydrogen-source, preferably electrolyzer (1), the hydrogen-metal hydride storage in the air-tight container, a gas-dosing device and a control device (5), where the storage is in an active contact with the biomass on the outer side via a hydrogen-permeable biofilm-inhibiting membrane.</p> |
