The method involves connecting a feed pipe (3) of a measuring device (1) to a hollow chamber volume, where the feed pipe is blocked by an electrically switchable valve (8). The connection of the pipe is monitored and controlled by a processor (13). A volume-normalized pressure container (6) over another electrically switchable valve (11) with preset filling pressure. The latter valve is closed to achieve the filling pressure, and the former valve is opened. A pressure drop in the container is monitored over a preset time period. Injection volumes in the chamber volume are calculated. An independent claim is also included for a measuring device for determining a leakage rate of pressurized hollow chamber volumes.
