A surgical cutting attachment (100) that may include an elongated first member (20) with a proximal end and a distal end including a first blade (21) and an elongated second member (40) with a proximal end and a distal end including a second blade (41). The second member may be positioned in a side-by- side orientation with the first member and may be connected to the first member at a pivot (90). A first set of apertures may extend through the first member and a second set (42) of apertures may extend through the second member. A connector (61,62) may be positioned on the proximal end of at least one of the first and second members. The first and second members may be movable between a first orientation with the first set of apertures aligned with the second set of apertures and the first blade spaced away from the second blade, and a second orientation with the first and second sets of apertures spaced away from each other and the first blade in proximity to the second blade. The first and second blades may form a scissor mechanism and the first and second set of apertures may form a shear mechanism. Methods of using the surgical cutting attachment are also disclosed.
