[Also in Divisions E1 and H2] A control cable 12, trailed from a guided missile is anchored to the ground by passing several turns of the cable around a bollard or drum 10 and embedding these turns in a plastics material. As shown, the bollard 10 is provided with a plate 14 having a hole 15 for an anchoring stake, and with a sheath 16 of synthetic rubber protecting the control cable. The cable is also sleeved in P.V.C. 18, 19 in the region of the anchorage. In an embodiment (Figs. 3, 4, not shown) a drum is secured within a slotted metal tube and holds the cable. An anchor pin passes through the drum and the enclosing tube. As shown, the cable is separated into four strands 20A, 20B, 20C, 20D, passing to the ground control apparatus. |
