APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING THE STEERING COLUMN

PURPOSE: An apparatus for adjusting a steering column is provided to securely maintain force for supporting the tilting adjusting position of a steering column. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for adjusting a steering column comprises a telescope bracket(110), a rake bracket(120), a rake bolt, and a lock plate(140). The telescope bracket is fixed to the outer surface of one side of a steering column(10). The rake bracket covers the telescope bracket and has first and second side walls. An inclined rake slot is formed in the first side wall of the rake bracket. Upper and lower rake racks are arranged in the top and bottom of the rake slot. The rake bolt rotatably traverses the first and second side walls of the rake bracket. The lock plate is installed in one end of the rake bolt and has multiple fitting protrusions which can be engaged with the see-teeth of the upper and lower rack racks.
