PURPOSE: A rotating tool for mechanical chip removal and a detachable upper part and a body for the tool are provided to easily mount or remove the detachable upper part on/from the jaw of the rotating tool. CONSTITUTION: A rotating tool for mechanical chip removal comprises a body and a detachable upper part(2). The body has front and rear ends, wherein a jaw(13) on the front end is defined by two torque-transfer drivers(14a,14b) and an intermediate bottom(15) formed with an axial center hole(16) and a fin(17) on the rear end(10) is defined by a free end face(23) and an exterior surface(22). The upper part has a locking screw(21) which is arranged in a radial bore(20) between the exterior surface(6) of the body and the center hole. A counter sink(35) of the fin of the upper part is separate from the end face in the axial direction. A snap-in member(34) arranged along the interior of the center hole is received in the end face.
