PURPOSE: An image display device and operating method are provided to increase a convenience of a user. CONSTITUTION: An operating method of an image display device displaying a 3D image by receiving an 3D image signal includes as follows: a step of detecting a connected external device(S810); a step of generating a 3D object expressing the detected external device(S820); a step of displaying the generating 3D object. The 3D object is signal-processed to a different depth with the image.
