A physical training apparatus comprises a vertical column C1, C2 carrying a device 17 having a transverse shaft 21 driven by cranks 29 and pedals 32 and braked by an adjustable band brake 23, and pulling handles 35 connected to cables 34 and wound on drums 33 connected to the shaft 21. Pulling the handles 35 and cables 34 rotates the shaft 21 in the same direction as the normal direction of pedalling, but a free connection between the drums 33 and shaft 21 allows the drums to return on release under the control of spiral springs 36.</p> |
