The casing 2, Fig. 2, for a number of multi - way slide valves 3 and one or more sliding check valves 4, Fig. 1, is designed to avoid distortion by the provision of partitions 5 on either side of the valve bores, which partitions extend from the bottom of the casing 2, Fig. 2, to an upper member 6 and incorporate fluid passages; the latter embody openings 7, Fig. 1, for the introduction of valve springs 8 and bearings 9, as well as fluid transfer passages 10, which opening and passages leave a series of cross-bars 12 extending to the bottom of the casing. The partitions and cross bars 12 form a honeycomb structure which may be of cast aluminium; the valves may be of the same material with a hard chromium surface. The casing is closed by a bolted carrier 16, Fig. 2, with a resistance to bending and twisting which is less than that of the casing; the cover 16 which has ports 18 opening to the passages 10, supports cartridge type relief valves 19. The cover has means whereby the valve block is mounted in position. Another valve block may be inverted and mounted on the cover with the ports 18 aligned. The casing may also have lateral ports 23, Fig. 1, connected by flexible ferrules to other valve blocks.</p> |
