<p>Vic-alkylene carbonates are used as reactive diluents for epoxy resins which are polyglycidyl ethers of polyhydric phenols. 1-80 parts of carbonate are used per 100 parts, by weight, of epoxy resin which forms the sole or major polymeric constituent of the composition. The compositions may also contain alkyd, ureaaldehyde, melamine-aldehyde and phenol-aldehyde resins, and conventional curing agents for epoxy resins.ALSO:Films are drawn down on tin plate with a 3 mil doctor blade from a composition comprising a liquid polyglycidyl ether of bisphenol. A tetraethylenepentamine and as reactive diluent 1, 2-propylene carbonate. The films were cured by baking at 100 DEG C.</p> |
