The invention relates to a photographic or cine camera having a diaphragm and a semi-automatic exposure control, and accepting inter-changeable lenses with or without diaphragms. The mechanism is shown in Fig. 2 with a lens 30 having its own diaphragm which is coupled to the pointer 11a of an exposure meter via a rod 3 moving on a cam surface 31a, the rod 3 acting on a pivoted lever 13 which in turn acts on a biased moveable toothed rack 8 which engages a pinion gear wheel 10 on the meter 11. A cam 30a on the lens 30 acts through a rod 2 to pivot a lever 4 against a spring bias 7 into an inactive position. Lens units having no diaphragm do not have the abutment 30a nor the cam surface 31a and when such units are used the lever 4 is free to move under its bias to ride on a cam surface 1a on the camera diaphragm operating member 1, and the rod 3 projects into a groove in the lens where it has no action. The lever 4 is connected to the toothed rack 8 by a further lever 5 against which it is biased. For controlling the exposure, the relevant diaphragm setting member is moved until the pointer 11 is aligned with index mark 12.</p> |
