<p>Heat shrinkable fibres of an acrylonitrile polymer are dyed at a temperature below 160 DEG F., dried at a temperature between 180 DEG F. and 220 DEG F. and blended with heat-stable fibres, as described in the parent Specification. The blended fibres, in the form of yarns or slivers, are knit or tufted into a high pile, e.g. looped, fabric which is heated to shrink differentially the fibres to produce a two-height pile fabric simulating natural fur, which effect may be enhanced by finishing treatments such as napping, heat polishing and shearing.</p> |
