摘要 A spray discharge assembly incorporating a flow conduit 1004 upstream (in the discharge direction) of an approach channel, a jetting orifice 1005 through which fluid from the conduit passes into the channel and a discharge orifice 1006 into which fluid from the channel passes to issue as a spray from a nozzle, the jetting orifice directing a jet of fluid onto a sharp edge 1012 surrounding the channel outlet 1007. A gas bleed inlet 1009 may be provided in the flow conduit. The device may have a compressed or liquefied gas propellant. The channel may have an equal diameter and axial length. The jetting orifices may be up to 30 degrees inclined from the axial direction (figure 7). There may be three to six jetting orifices. The assembly may be provided in a valve stem of an aerosol spray device. A "bubbly flow" of homogenous bubbles without stratification across the flow conduit is achieved, turbulent bubble-laden jets impacting the edge producing flow separation aiding in atomisation into droplets.
