An overcill 30 is manufactured from a cementitious compound, preferably glass reinforced concrete, and comprises a shelf 32 portion arranged to cover an upper surface of an existing cill 14 without interfering with an existing window frame and a skirt portion 34 depending from the shelf portion 32 to cover a front surface of the existing till 14. The overcill may incorporate an insulating material concentrated towards the region of the overcill which in use engages the upper surface of the existing cill. The shelf portion 32 may have a peripheral chamfer to enable it to be removed from a mould. The overcill is designed for use in buildings where an additional insulation layer 22 has been added to the external wall 12 of the building and the existing cill 14 does not extend sufficiency beyond the new exterior edge 26 of the wall. |
