PURPOSE: A heat exchanger is provided to enable the effective arrangement of components at the center floor bottom of the vehicle and promote heat exchange between the cooling water and the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanger(10) comprises a case(12), cooling water passages(26,28), an exhaust air passage(30), a bypass passage(40), and a connection pipe. An exhaust inlet is formed on one side of the case, and an exhaust outlet is formed on the other side thereof. The cooling water passage is formed inside the case and connects to a cooling water inlet and a cooling water outlet. The exhaust air passage is adjacent to the cooling water passage inside the case. One end of the exhaust air passage connects to the exhaust inlet, and the other end connects to the exhaust outlet. The bypass passage is installed at the center of the exhaust air passage. One end of the bypass passage selectively connects to the exhaust inlet through the valve, and the other end thereof connects to the exhaust outlet so the exhaust gas selectively passes therethrough. The connection pipe guides a part of the exhaust gas passing through the bypass passage to the exhaust air passage.
