A method of operating an electricity generation plant arranged to burn a biomass fuel and including a boiler (10) for producing steam, a condensing steam turbine (53), an air-cooled vacuum condenser (55) to recover the water of spent steam from the turbine, a flue gas moisture condensing arrangement (17) configured to extract latent heat of condensation from the flue gas, and collection tank (20) for condensate from the condensing arrangement (17). The quantity of condensate collected from the moisture condensing arrangement (17) is controlled so that the water demand of the plant is substantially fulfilled by the combination of the condensed steam from the turbine (53) and the condensate from the flue gas moisture condensing arrangement (17), whereby in operation no water is drawn from a source external to the plant nor discharged to the environment from the plant.
