PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting receiver and operating method thereof are provided to upload a bidirectional service of a user and to use a bidirectional service of a user through a hybrid fiber coax network. CONSTITUTION: An uplink channel to a broadcast station through a first communications network is searched. The uplink channel to the broadcast station is determined through a second communication network. A second communication network is set up an uplink channel in case there is a second communication network.
