PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for processing data in a terminal having a touch screen are provided to store more data and improve a data transfer speed by storing and managing stroke information inputted through a pointing device as feature point information. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(117) displays the data selected by a user on a screen and indicates a feature point extracting scheme selection window. The feature point extracting scheme selection window selects the feature extracting scheme which extracts the feature point information of data. A control unit(130) extracts the feature point information of data by using the feature point extracting scheme. A storage unit(120) stores the feature point information as group feature point information.
