A facing and centring tool comprises a base member 1 having a central bore 1a, a drill clamping sleeve 2 carrying a centre drill 4 detachably located in the bore 1a and three facing tools 13, 14, 15 located at different diameters and mounted respectively on holders 9, 10, 11 which are adjustably located in guide channels 6, 7, 8, at least one of and preferably both facing tools 14, 15 being finely adjustable in axial direction by wedge means and operating screws 17, 16 to ensure that the three tools 13, 14, 15 operate in a common plane. The holders 9, 10, 11 are also adjustable to give positive or negative rake to the tools 13, 14, 15. When it is desired to change the drill 4 and its clamping sleeve 2, e.g. to use a different size of drill, release of the drill 4 may be effected by a screw member 5. Coolant passages 12 are provided in the base member 1.</p> |
