PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for transmitting a signal in a wireless communication system are provided to transfer control information to a terminal from a femto base station which is operated in an LDM(Low Duty operation Mode). CONSTITUTION: A femto BS(Base Station) judges the LDM(Low Duty operation Mode) operation in a super frame of a current point(201), and generates a P-SFH(Primary Super Frame Header) including LDM information(203). The femto base station transfers the super frame only through a sub frame which transfers an SFH(205), and generates a P-SFH IE including normal mode information(207). The femto base station transfers a signal through a preamble, a first sub frame and the rest sub frames(209).
