PURPOSE: An FFS(Fringe Field Switching) mode liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to extend an aperture ratio by maximally removing a dark region without forming a contact hole in a pixel region. CONSTITUTION: An FFS mode liquid crystal display device includes a lower substrate, an upper substrate, and a liquid crystal layer inserted between the substrates. The lower substrate defines each pixel region through a gate line(200a) and a data lines(600) which are formed in the direction crossing each other. A switching element is arranged on the crossing section of the data line and the gate line.
